Dotty Dog Training
Hi I am Alex, and am delighted to be a trusted trainer at Therapy dog training UK!Â
Ever since I was small my passion has always been dogs, and when i left school i worked as a veterinary nurse for about 7 years before getting my dream job at guide dogs! I have worked at Guide dogs for 23 years, with the majority of my time working as a guide dog mobility specialist. In this role I trained our wonderful guide dogs to become real life changers! Once the dogs were trained to the high standards expected of them I would then work with people with sight loss to coach them on how to work with their new dog until they qualified as a partnership. my main role in guide dogs currently is to train new guide dog mobility specialist on how to do the job in the guide dog academy, it takes each learner 3 years of specialist training to qualify to do the role.Â
Alongside this I also own my own business, Dotty dog training, where I help owners become confident in training their own dogs. I work with puppies, adult dogs and dogs with behavioural challenges I love to see how much more confident people become when they start to see real results with their dogs! I only use positive training methods, resulting in happy confident dogs and owners. I am also a kids around dogs professional, helping families with dogs and adults and children who have a fear of dogs to become more confident around dogs. People who work with me describe me as friendly, approachable, patient and knowledgeable.Â
I live with my Husband Lee who is a primary school teacher, my 2 children and my 2 dalmatians.Â
