Emma is a qualified dog trainer and behaviour consultant who specialises in reward
based, welfare-led training. She holds a BA in Education and a BSc in Canine
Behaviour and Training, bringing together a strong foundation in learning theory,
behaviour science and real-world application. She is a member of PACT, is
registered with the ABTC, and is an IAABC Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant,
reflecting her commitment to ethical, evidence-based practice and ongoing
professional development.
Through many years of supporting dogs and their guardians, Emma became
increasingly aware of the profound impact that well-supported dogs can have in
therapeutic, educational and care settings. Emma is particularly passionate about
ethical therapy dog practice. She advocates strongly for approaches that prioritise
the dog’s consent, individuality and emotional wellbeing alongside the needs of the
people they support.
Based in Mid Wales, Emma runs Puppy Plus Training and Behaviour Services,
where she supports families, professionals and organisations to develop therapy dog
partnerships grounded in compassion, understanding and respect, ensuring that
therapy work is as positive for the dog as it is valuable for the people they help.
