My love of animals began at an early age having grown up living in the countryside in
a household with many varied pets, and with family being farmers. I trained and
qualified as a Veterinary Nurse and registered with the RCVS. I have a passion for
teaching and training, and I enjoyed teaching, assessing and training student nurses
in Veterinary practice, which then led onto gaining employment and qualifying as a
Further Education Lecturer, teaching post 16 students enrolled on Animal Welfare
courses at a local agricultural college for over 16 years.
Since 2017, I have spent some of my spare time volunteering as a puppy socialiser
at the Guide Dogs National Centre helping within a team to socialise the puppies at a
critical age in their social development, which I find immensely rewarding.
I qualified as a Puppy School Tutor in 2022 and currently teach group puppy and
follow on classes in the Warwickshire area. I am an approved Kids Around Dogs
professional and a UK Sniffer Dog Instructor.
I have a passion for teaching, along with my love of dogs and only using positive
reinforcement techniques I am able to offer you knowledgeable, expert and effective
training, assessment, support and guidance on your journey towards certifying your
dog with ‘Therapy Dog Training UK’, with good background understanding in
particular of the training requirements for dogs in schools and college environments.
