Jo Croft (Hart)

Dogology Dogs - Hertfordshire

My name is Jo Croft (Hart). For as long as I can remember I have always loved being around dogs.  I got my first dog in 2001 when I was 13 and promptly joined my local dog club Hertford and District Dog Training Society (H.D.D.T.S).  In 2004 H.D.D.T.S sponsored me to become an Instructor, sending me on the Dog Training Instructor’s course in 2005 - I have been volunteering my time on a Thursday evening every week since!  As of 2014 I have also been tasked with training the trainee trainers, which is incredibly rewarding. My business ‘Dogology Dogs - Hertfordshire’ was primarily established to help people and their dogs on a 1-2-1 basis.  Over the years I have also spent time as a groomer, with my own salon and working as part of a large chain - throughout this time I used my training and handling skills to encourage ethical cooperative care.  In recent years I have also become a Freelance Media Handler, training and handling numerous dogs for media roles including TV commercials, series and short films (one of which has reached Hollywood).  I hold a monthly Media Training class, which is essentially a life skills class with an added twist of learning the key skills often required by a canine actor.
