everything you need to set up your own therapy dog service with confidence.

You’ll gain:

  •  Practical guidance to deliver a safe and compliant therapy service

  •  A deep understanding of canine welfare to keep your dog happy and healthy

  •  Access to a full suite of written resources and templates

  •  Bite-sized video tutorials to coach your dog to the silver level recommended

for UK therapy dogs


Whether you're new to dog training or already have experience, these workshops are

Your dog may be a sweetheart at home — but how do you know they’ll thrive in a

busy school or hospital setting? That’s where the Temperament and Training

This informal but vital step is designed to ensure your dog is emotionally ready and

temperamentally suited to therapy work. It takes place from 18 months of age when

your dog is fully mature.

We’ll help you:


Connect with one of our 60+ trusted UK-based qualified trainers or collaborate with your own trainer or behaviourist

Assessment fees range from £65 to £100 depending on location.

Step 3: Certification

Once you’ve completed the workshops and your dog receives a ‘Ready’ in their

temperament assessment, you’re eligible for the TDT UK Visiting Therapy Dog

Certificate & Dog Training Award.

This certification proves to schools, care facilities, and healthcare providers that

you’re serious about safety, welfare, and professionalism. It also opens the door to

purchasing official Therapy Dog Training UK uniforms for both you and your dog

— a proud symbol of the incredible work you’re doing.


Every participant also receives a downloadable CPD credit certificate once the

online training is completed.
